Section Information for Spring 2024
This course explores the history of the lands and peoples that made up the Russian Empire under the tsars at the beginning of the 20th century, through the Russian Revolution, the establishment of a communist regime under Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin, the collapse of the Soviet system, the emergence of new systems after the Soviet collapse to the rise of Vladimir Putin. This course satisfies the Mason Core requirement in global understanding or the College of Humanities and Social Sciences requirement in non-Western culture.
