The Current State of Russia's War on Ukraine

 

Russia's full-scale war on Ukraine is now over five weeks old. George Mason faculty with specializations in history, politics, and conflict analysis and resolution will take questions and discuss the war.

Come engage in discussion with these faculty:

Steven Barnes, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Director of the Program in Russian and Eurasian Studies and Associate Professor in the Department of History and Art History, and President of the Southern Conference on Slavic Studies. His research focuses on the Soviet Gulag and forced displacement and internment of populations.

Mark Katz, Schar School of Policy and Government, Professor of Government and Politics who has written on Russian politics, Russian foreign policy, and revolutions with particular focuses on Russian relations with the Middle East.

Karina Korostelina, Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Professor and Director of the Peace Lab on Reconciling Conflict and Intergroup Divisions who has conducted research on identity-based conflicts around the world with special emphasis on Ukraine.

Eric McGlinchey, Schar School of Policy and Government, Associate Professor of Government and Politics who has focused on and written widely about politics, governance, border disputes, and Islam in Central Asia.
