Minor in Russian
Lillian Mullins

How did you choose your degree program ?
I was always interested in Russia as a child, and I decided that I wanted to learn more about it and learn the language.
Are there faculty or staff members who made a difference during your Mason career?
Elena Guglielmi, is my favorite professor at Mason. In Summer I am going to a Russian immersion school. I want to go to Latvia to study Russian philology and get my doctoral degree in it and be a professor in Eastern Europe.
What has been your most meaningful experience in the Department of Modern & Classical Languages so far?
The most valuable part of the Department of Modern & Classical Languages is being able to meet people from Eastern Europe and learn about what it is like and hear their stories.
What does learning a new language and culture mean to you?
For me, learning a new language and culture means freedom. I want to move out of the United States and learning a new language and the culture gets me a step closer to that. My favorite pass time at mason, I am a figure skater, so I spend a lot of time at the nearby ice rink.
